On-demand risk assessment tool adopted by the BBC and used by staff and contractors worldwide.
Project Scope
The British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC) commissions extensive, original content for radio and television, such as the news, sport and drama. To support this varied and global programming portfolio, the BBC needed a digital tool to compile an on-demand risk assessment for all staff and contractors, that could be accessed on location, in the studio, online and offline.
Methodologies Used
In order to meet the diverse and complex risk management needs of BBC staff and contractors, we developed an iOS and Android mobile app housing over 600 hazards, control measures and legal safety requirements. This library (also available offline) enables the user to develop highly specialised risk mitigation checklists.
Final Deliverable
Since 2012, 5000 of the BBC’s global employees and contractors have used our app.

Following its successful roll out at the BBC, our cross-platform app has been adapted for the National Theatre, and will be launched in mid-2016.
